FAQ’s

I’m not a painter! What if I don’t know what to do?

That’s OK! Really! There is absolutely NO experience necessary!!! In fact that’s why we want you to come!

There are no critics, everyone is there for a good time. Leave your ego at the door. We promise you an experience that is all about expressing yourself on a blank canvas. A joyful attitude of fun and giving yourself the gift of play are the two things you will need.

With an artist leading you every step of the way, you will be amazed with your finished masterpiece that YOU create and take home.

Should I sign up before class?

Yes, in order to secure a seat and a prepared canvas, please check our Calendar and Register and pay online or by phone : 209-533-4542.

Do I have to paint what the instructor is painting?

No. That’s what makes this class so inspiring. If you wish to paint something else or want to use different colors for the painting being taught…Go for it! Paint what inspires you!

How much does a class cost and what does it include?

Classes are priced from $25. (for small canvases: 8″ x 8″ up to 11″ x 14″), $35. for two hour classes and $45. for 3 hour classes. Special pricing for Private Parties, Paint It Forward Fund Raising, and Catered Special Events. The Calendar has the prices with each shown painting for that event.

The credit is subject to forfeiture with a no-show or cancellation of less than 48 hours notice on a second rescheduled class.

Do you have a weather-related refund policy?

Yes. If you registered and pre-pay for a class and we feel it is necessary to cancel a class due to inclement weather, we will refund your payment if you do not wish to take a credit for another class. If there is inclement weather, but we decide to hold the class, we will give you a credit towards another class of equal value.

For Private Parties-We will contact you requesting to re-schedule your party if we believe weather conditions may be a concern. If you book a private party the WE CANCEL due to poor weather conditions, we will issue a full refund to your credit card or your deposit can roll over to a future re-booking.

If you decide to run your party anyway, but change your mind at the last minute, we can only refund your deposit if we are notified before we leave our studio.

What should I wear?

Although we provide aprons and our paints are acrylic water-based, it is very difficult to get dried paint spills out of clothes. You should wear comfortable clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting paint on…just in case.

Do you sell alcohol?

No, we don NOT have a liquor license. We do NOT sell any alcohol. We do NOT serve alcohol. NO ONE UNDER 21 is permitted to drink alcohol while on the Brush & Cork premises. We reserve the right to check ID’s. We also suggest you determine a Designated Driver if you intend on bringing and drinking alcohol while at Brush & Cork.

Is your studio BYO?

Yes, you are encouraged to bring your own libations (wine, beer, soda, juice, etc.) and snacks. We do have free bottle water and a Keurig coffee maker available for all or customers and Designated Drivers.

Do we tip the artist/teacher?

While our artists are not ‘starving’, they do appreciate knowing that you have enjoyed your experience at Brush & Cork and would very much appreciate any tip you deem appropriate! The tip jar is generally near where the wine table is set up. And for Private Parties and Catered Events, it is greatly appreciated for the chef and artist to receive tips of appreciation.

Do we need to bring anything else besides our drinks and snacks?

We provide all necessary supplies including corkscrews paper plates, cutting boards, napkins, and plastic utensils. But our drinking glasses are plastic. If you wish to bring your own wine glasses, you may.

Can my group of friends sit together?

Please arrive 15 minutes early to choose your seat! If it’s imperative we arrange for your group to sit together, please call us when making your reservation.

Can I bring my child if they are under 21?

We would prefer if you didn’t bring your child to the event where alcohol is being used and there is a mature crowd…mostly out of respect for the other participants. We have classes for children and we also will be having Family Painting Parties, where children will be allowed and welcomed. Thank you for your understanding.

Do you ever share my information with other companies?

Absolutely NOT. Your right to privacy is very important to us. When you register online, you will be automatically added to our email list. If you choose not to be included, do not respond to the automated email and your account will not be activated.

We do send out a newsletter with updates, promotions, and discounts to those people on our email list. If you are on that list you may choose to opt out at any time at the bottom of every newsletter.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?

Yes, Gift Certificates are available online or at the studio.

Do you offer handicap access?

We have an entry on Jackson St., through our side door. You may park there (it says No Parking but don’t worry…we know the owner). We are sorry, but at this time our restroom is not ADA approved. We are working on that problem.

When should we arrive for our class time?

Our painting parties run about 2.5 hours to 3 hours from start to finish. Plan on arriving up to a half hour early to sign in, choose your seating, and have some time for sippin’ and schmoozin’ before we start painting.
